Founded in 1908, SRM has a history of more than 100 years and proven products used all over the world in all challenging applications, manufactured by various renowned manufacturers under patent license of SRM. Virtually 9 out of 10 screw compressors operating in the world are originated from the drawing boards at SRM.
By the 1960s, after successfully developing oil-flooded air compressors, SRM further proceeded with R&D program to evaluate the use of screw compressors in refrigeration applications, which resulted in the first invention, development, and integration of a slide valve arrangement for stepless capacity control in screw compressors. At the same time, theoretical analysis and R&D efforts were made to improve the efficiency of screw compressors, which resulted in what has become known as the SRM asymmetric profile. Later on, continuous developments and improvements in screw profiles resulted in D, G, H & I screw profiles.
R&D work at SRM has not only been concentrated on rotor profile, but also includes all important areas, making screw compression practically possible for the refrigeration industry, including but not limited to the following.
In 2012, Snowman bought stakes in SRM, enabling it to industrialize its products. Today, Screw Compressors for industrial refrigeration compressors of the SRMtec brand are manufactured in Snowman facilities in China & Europe, ensuring the availability of the latest, best-in-class, and most efficient industrial refrigeration compressors for customers all over the world
